It's a mechanical and cosmetic rebuild.I suppose you could look at it like it would cost more than that to do it to a Bugeye yourself, especially a checkbook mechanic. My 2 cents, don't mean much. I am interested to know if the chrome ones were always chrome on brass or if some were chrome on steel. Also I am interested to know if there is a weight difference between the chromed and the stainless steel and what the actual weights are. This is the weight of the whole assembly the bit that sticks down into the door complete with the quarterlight, glass and catch etc (and with or without the felt runner. I do know they are original as I got the car nearly new from the original owner in '69. I have 4 other sets that are non-magnetic, but I cannot really tell plated brass from stainless. They range from early '64 to late '67. They are loose and can be weighed if I knew what I was weighing. I CAN tell you that my aluminum doors are lighter than the steel ones.
