I used a group 51 in my Midget for years. Simply so I could get it in and out with out removing the bonnet. It was actually not a real choice, my battery died on Skyline Drive, and when I went to get one, that is what they had. Worked great and I could get it in w/o removing the bonnet.

I believe I ate 2 batteries on tenders this past winter. I would like to get a small in size, sealed battery for my Sprite because I have to remove the hood otherwise. However the sealed batteries can't be tender charged because they are sealed. What is the group using?
