[Spridgets] Excessive Crankcase pressure

It's been on ongoing thing, but I think it got worse last year.
For the 1st few years I ran it, I had the Breather off the Fuel pump boss just vented to a tube to the ground.
And a Breather Filter on Valve Cover which was always getting saturated with oil.
Kept noticing puddles under the car when parked. last year I decided to get a Catch Can to try and prevent that.

Pretty sure it has a rear Seal kit installed on it. Haven't noticed a lot of oil from that area.
I tried to Vent the Valve Cover to a port on the intake. Realized that was a mistake, as it smoked like CRAZY.

Rick, it does have ports on the Carbs, right now they are just joined with a Hose.

I haven't tried going from the VC to a Metal PCV can to the Ports on the Carbs yet.
I'll have to find a Y hose piece.

Ron,
Guess it's possible that it broke the inner spring quite some time ago and
it's been just using the outer spring on that cylinder until the Retainer finally gave up.

Side note,
Ordered new Higher rate Springs and Hardened Steel Retainers.
Since the Rocker shaft and Rockers have to be removed and the 4 Head nuts have to be removed,
should I leave the other 5 tight or loosen them slightly?
If I leave them tight, when re-assembling, loosen and retorque all of them?

Thanks all!

Brian,

Is this a new development or has this engine always had this problem?

Are you having any leakage from the rear scroll "seal"? (Or do you have a proper seal back there)?

It sounds like you need a little vacuum on the engine.

Can you set up a vacuum line from the valve cover to the intake manifold that would replace the line that is usually from the timing cover to the intake manifold? It shouldn't take too much vacuum to relieve the pressure in the engine. Especially if you have an otherwise healthy engine.

Brian,

My tiny little brain can't remember, but what carb(s) are you running?

On an unrelated note, to my broken valve spring retainer, I think.

This 1275 has had Excessive Crankcase pressure for a while and seems to be getting worse.
It has a breather off the old fuel pump boss going to a catch can.
Valve cover has a breather to atmosphere and vented cap.
Highway driving, 65 mph, which is about 4200 in my car, will fill the 1 pint catch can in about 50 miles!
It will also try to push the Dip Stick out
Driving around town/back roads, varied rpm, it's not too bad.
It will take a while to fill the catch can.
Compression is 172-180 in all 4 cylinders. So I thought must be rings.
Did a Leakdown test.
TDC, throttle open, Valve cover off, Rad cap off, dip stick out, gauge set to 100psi.
Has 0 leakdown in all 4. 0!
WTH?
Car runs great, very good power, tho it does smoke out the tail pipe some.
Could it be bore taper? i.e. Seal at top is good but excessive space at the bottom ½ or so of bore??
Can that be checked w/o pulling the head?

Thanks in advance for any insight.
