Dirty or stuck needle would be my guess.

I am honing in on the problem of my Bugeye refusing to run more than a float bowl worth of fuel at a time.  I have a 1275 punched out to 1330 and fuel it with a single HIF44 S.U. carb.  The problem I am now having is the Facet electric pump running furiously like no fuel is running through it, which it is not.  Tonight I removed the fuel line from the carb end and stuck it in a jar.  I turned the key to energize the fuel pump and it started to cavitate and run furiously as before, but in a few seconds it bogged down just like it does when the float bowl is full and the jar started to fill up!  The float bowl vent is open and the fuel inlet hose is connected to the correct inlet pipe.  I have had this carb apart three times and found no obstructions anywhere.  What could be plugging up the float bowl chamber vent stopping gas from entering the carb?  As you can see in the picture, the connections are correct as they have been all along. Any ideas?Mike MacLean
