[Spridgets] Ignition wiring help

SO.. the joys of having a late 1974 1/2 midget 

My old stock switch died went to buy new one from MOSS (i Know!)



the newer one has

           Purple

white            teal/white

red/white      brown

grey              open



My original switch has

          Purple/pink

white           Green/white

red/white     brown



Can I kill the grey wire and modify the plug and still make it work? I think its for a 1500 or 75 midget but the wiring diagram that i have does not show a grey from the ignition switch to anything.

Thoughts?
