[Spridgets] Bugeye Wiper Motor Rebuild

I recently re-watched the BMC film about the introduction of the Bugeye.  If you watch the film you will notice in a couple parts that it shows the windshield wipers in use.  I was surprised by the speed of the wipers when new as mine have never been nearly as quick since the original restoration 18 years ago.  I decided to put the wiper system on the list of projects i am doing to freshen up the car.  I removed the wiper motor for rebuild and found the white lithium grease I had packed it with had become stiff and gooey over time in the heat of the engine compartment.  Not sure what I will find when I remove the cable and wheel boxes.  I don't remember if I lubricated those at the time.  What lubricant should be used in the wiper motor and on the cable, if any?
