I can't speak for Stan but it seems to me he has nothing to do with who can run with VSCDA. That's an organizational decision and it is quite possible they would consider an "exhibition class" that would run with the Mod-2 Spridgets.  I'm sure you will get a morew specific response from someone on this mailing.

Hello Stan – Thank you for the update.

Can you please decipher for us what class a currently-raced SCCA H Production Spridget would be placed in.  The body is highly modified but the motor is not.  For example, we have full coil-over suspension (no lever shocks), full fiberglass body panels (except doors), no interior trim, but we have stock manifold and carburetion, only a .040” overbore, stock rocker ratios, 11:1 compression, .450” valve lift, and no head porting.  We call it a limited prep motor.

We also run full racing slicks, which you don’t seem to address in your class outline (I may have missed it).  As I mentioned to you before, there are a few of us that would like to attend this special occasion, and as long as we can race against other similar cars we don’t care whether we are necessarily competitive, but the main thing is we don’t want to have to modify what we have because we will be on track in another SCCA event in short order.

I realize that your rules seem to reflect a philosophy of “it is either stock/vintage or it is allowed to be highly modified”.  Our hybrid cars do not follow this line of thinking, but we understand that.  We certainly will not be able to compete with Weber carbs. .060 overbores, and unlimited compression and valve lift, but it will be fun anyway.

Fellow Spridget Peoples,

I wanted to pass along a good visual and description of just one of the many fun things we have planned for the 60th Sprite Midget Reunion at Elkhart Lake / Road America September 13-16, 2018.  The following links will do a better job of explaining the Elkhart Road Course Reenactment.  The resort town of Elkhart Lake in 1950 wanted to improve business and felt a Sports Car Race would be the answer and has grown into this incredible event that features our favorite ride this year! The following are 2 links that do a great job explaining yesterday and today of this important Historical Street Course that we can take part in whether in your Street Spridget or Race Spridget.
