[Spridgets] Bugeye Brake Shoes

Remind me to not complain about the price of parts for my Bugeye again.  I was finishing up the oil leak repair on the rear axle of my Bugeye a few days ago.  I was just finishing up by installing the drums that I had turned.  The side that had the leak (passenger) was the last side I was working on.  When I put the drum back on the car it was a tough friction fit with all of the adjustment taken out.  The drum would not turn.  It did not dawn on me right away until my son that was helping me said to take off the shoes and then try to turn the drum.  Bingo!  Apparently the shoes had soaked up some of the oil and had swollen to the point of stopping the drum from turning.  I ordered a set of shoes from Moss for less than $15.  I thought I was only getting one side.  They just arrived and it's a complete set for both sides!  I did a brake job recently on my daughter's 2009 Civic.  It cost $20 for rear shoes for one side.  Hard to complain about British car part prices today.Mike MacLean
