Pk, some happy journalist news -- I know there are many Peter Egan fans on this list, and many of you know he's been battling hepatitis c that he contracted serving our country in Vietnam. Lynette and I were fortunate enough to talk with him for quite a while last weekend and am happy to report that he is doing great and seems 100%.

I first "met" Peter as a 17 year old kid reading his first stories in R&T about a Sprite racer's view of Corvettes and his experience as a boy trying to turn a Buick into a race car. In 1984 I read a feature called "Return of the Bugeye" that made me want one, as well as to race someday at this mythical place called Blackhawk Farms. A fellow past and present Triumph, BSA, Harley, Honda and Kawasaki owner it turns out, his motorcycle road trip stories still get me through each winter.

The stories flowed freely on Saturday, some of them involving adventures with others on the list back when we'd take ad-hoc trips to see cars or each other. His memory and recollection of detail is astounding, and he sees details the rest of us just don't. Peter is a kindred soul to many of us, and if there is a more humble, genuine person in our hobby I haven't meant him or her. It was fantastic to see him doing so well.

While some may not have liked it I found it entertaining and to be about the only automotive restoration show I could stomach watching. Most of the others with their scripted drama are just...
