[Spridgets] Retiring from Penn - It's Been Real

Congratulations Larry! I have some friends who sold their house a few years ago, and have been RVing ever since. They get gigs working at campsites around the country - you know, the nice couple that take the money at the little building when you pull into a park's camping area...
On to the important stuff: You'll (or course) be wanting to travel thru Tennessee at some point. I'm about 30 miles Southeast of Nashville in a place called Murfreesboro, TN. Please call anytime you're passing through or coming to stay in the area. There's all kinds of cool stuff to do here. Plan on it, please.

Hate to admit it, but Theresa may not be too far off base about the Midget. You're gonna want to pull something modern and comfortable so you can run down to the grocery or Home Depot when you get where you're going to stay for a while. Reliability (and A/C) is nice. But it will have to be a convertible...
...or does it? Don't know what your budget is, but you know they make both open and enclosed trailers that allow you to stack a couple cars, right? Yeah. Just saying... You could carry something 'normal" like a Mini, and keep the Midget stacked above it.
I'm serious. Would love to see you guys at some point. :-)

Fellow Spridgeteers,

I want to announce some thing important.

I am retiring from Penn after 20 years. This will be effective June 5 (yes Monday).

My wife, Theresa, and I have been talking about taking to the road for several years. We want to retire into full time RV’ing. We’ll teach some classes and drink some wine in some of the most spectacular places in the US. Imagine have Yosemite’s Half Dome outside your window when you wake in the morning, Old Faithful at sunset, the Grand Canyon for lunch. We are newer members of the Rails to Trails Conservancy, we spend a lot of time on our bikes. So don’t be sad for me leaving, be joyful about what we are going to see and experience. (or be jealous :-)

I will have an Instgram account so I can share images I have taken over the years and across the country. I am also on Twitter (mostly political troublemaking - Surprise ;-) both @naturally_larry. I will be opening a consulting business, just to keep my fingers in and my skills up. I’ll forward the URL when the web site, larrythemac.guru, is up and running.

Not certain what will become of the Midget, it’s certainly not getting the toad treatment (RVish for towed vehicle) behind the RV. Don’t ask, just accept that Theresa said no. As the day of leaving in the RV approaches, likely late this year, I will need to make that decision. But I’ll be driving it over the summer, that’s for damn sure.
