We're having that problem too. Check that the exhaust pipe is solidly
mounted. Some <ahem> person installed one of those rubber hangers for
the intermediate exhaust pipe mount. The pipe wiggled, compressed the
donut, which then leaked. I picked up all the correct pieces and am
installing it next. I'll post how that holds up.
As for cars working, fat chance. Ours is awaiting some loving attention
from me, or my son to finish connecting the engine to the rest of the car.
We also had one very odd failure. Both rebound straps failed. We
installed them a couple years ago, but they weren't up to the task of
restraining the rear axle for the few months we had the car up on jack
stands. Have new ones in there now, and the rear end is sitting on jack
stands under the axle instead of the body.
