Ron,

While it hasn't happened to me,
I think I remember hearing about a friend of my father's neighbor's
cousin's uncle's son-in-law's buddy's nephew might have ruined a camshaft.

Just sayin'...

ps. While I remember walking through the Kendall Center at the Glen as a kid
many years ago and being blown away by what was in there,
Kendall oil is NOT the same stuff as it used to be. Not even being made at the place.
Conoco/Philips owns the brand name.
Kendall GT-1 20-50 has boosted levels of ZDDP.

Brad Penn oil is made at the old Kendall Factory.

Brian S.
Bugeyeracer finally resto'ed!
Thanks to Frank C.!

Everyone who has ruined their camshaft from using the wrong oil, please speak up.

Not long ago (maybe 2 years?) Shell Rotella "T" was formulated for flat tappet engines.. Does anyone know if its formulation has changed?
Cheers!!

Haven't seen Kendall on the shelves for quite some time, but for those of us who paid $5 to walk through the Kendall Center at the Glen and get a close eyeball on the F1 cars and mechanics it brings back a lot of good memories.

This will be old news for some, but I learned something new
today.

I have been buying Kendall 20w-50 oil for the Sprite because it was
reported to have good amounts of ZDDP. Today when I went to buy
the familiar black bottle, I couldn't find it. That's because it is now
silver/grey color and it states specifically on the bottle that it
contains zinc (and other stuff) to protect flat tappet engines. The
bottle also carries a new part number.

For some folks, this might be easier to find than Brad Penn or some of
the other brands.
