[Spridgets] Cork SU seals

What is the best way to get those pesky cork jet seals soft in order to install them without breaking them? 
I've thought that maybe wrapping them with a damp paper towel and microwaving them might work. any other ideas? They don't seem to want to absorb water or oil just sitting in them.
