Also check the wire inside the distributor - Sometimes the conductor breaks,
but the jacket looks OK. The engine will start and idle fine, but as soon as
the engine revs the distributor advances and breaks the connection and the
engine won't rev...

Mike- Check (replace) the coil- These symptoms are identical to what
happened to me and my '60 Bugeye- easy start, no problem idle, but would not
run otherwise.  It was a head scratcher for a while.  I kept replacing
things with no effect, until I replaced the coil- Bam! that was it.
