He just had the right connections and right people around him.  Most PR,
magazine people, and web/catalog designers won't look to far to get something
different. If they see something nice, they will use it over and over.  The
catalogs and PR stuff we did at Nissan was classic for this. Although the
Electromotive Nissans won more races we used the Bob Sharp stuff because it
had PLN above the driver's door. The big guys loved the PLN stuff (Hollywood
chasers!) 

John Felt's Red Bugeye was prettier and more in the taste of most
people but he was not in the right spot to get it the proper press it needed.
 Friends in the industry is all one needs

I never begrudge anyone doing a car in their own style and
taste, but this car
appeared ad nauseum in article after article and on club
magazine covers and
calendars that it became boring/annoying.
