It is excellent to hear the positive about a company. I will hopefully use
them in the future if the need arises!

Re: [Spridgets] White Post Restorations

A few months back, when life in
Texas warmer, I pulled the brake and clutch
masters out of the 68 Sprite. They
had been rebuilt by White Post
Restorations back in late 07 or early 08, in
preparation for LotO '08
There had been some leakage from the clutch master,
and I just attributed
it to the copper washer at the slave and added as the
need arose. Then, not
so long ago, I got into the car, and the floor mat was
SOAKED in fluid. I
put down a blanket, and filled both masters again. The next
day, they were
empty.
I could not find my receipt, and White Post is just
getting into computer
records. I was told to return them, and they would know
their work when
they saw it, and repair it upon inspection.
I removed both
masters, was able to drain the clutch one quite well, but
was not happy with
the brake master bleed, so I left the lid on, and put
each one in their own
zip lock bag. (the post office will freak out if your
package leaks an oily
residue). Then, a coating of bubble wrap, packing
popcorn to take up the
space, and the box was ready to go. Insurance for
$400, and off it went.
My
box arrived last Tuesday, and when I removed the masters, they were
wrapped in
newspaper. I grab the clutch master, cut the paper loose, and
see it is also
shrink wrapped. Looks good.
Open up the brake master, and inside the shrink
wrap, my Lockheed lid is in
pieces. A few pictures and an email to express my
shock and disappointment.
I get an email from Director or Operations Crystal
Lacey-Thompson the next
day. We share some measurements of the lid and lo and
behold, they have an
original there. She UPS'ed it out to me and it arrived
today. I had been
assured that they were going to change their packing program
for shipping
out a customers finished product, and if the packing on this lid
is any
indication of their new program, it will be remarkably better.
To wrap
it all up, I would like to say I am very pleased with how White
Post addressed
the warranty issue, as well as the shipping damage.
And yes, their lifetime
warranty is honored,
One VERY happy customer
