[Spridgets] Books at APT

I know I will take some heat for this, but here is what "I" did.
Several months ago, I had my throttle cable freeze up on me. Since I was
only about 6 blocks from Wally World, I was able to limp over to their
parking lot. I have a fairly comprehensive tool kit I keep in the back of
the Sprite. Wrenches, sockets, multi-screwdriver. Pliers, wire cutters, you
get the idea.
I went to the bike section and purchased a set of shifter/brake cables for
$5. Out at the car, the rear brake cable is the one you use for the repair.
The end that is rounded, not the newer "barrel connection, is the one you
need. I was able to trim the size diameter down with my side cutters, and
then round it by rubbing it against the concrete bump stop in front of the
car. I trimmed the sheath to the length and within 5 minutes, I was back on
the road again. Somewhere, Frank was smiling from ear to ear.
I recall sharing this story after it happened, and someone suggested that I
get the "noodles" off the front and rear brakes on a Wally World type bike.
I put them on either end of the cable, and was able to shorten the cable by
quite a bit. It no longer hits on the underside of the bonnet. It couldn't
function any smoother than if you were moving a hot knife through butter.
Mike, I can provide photos, and possibly noodles, if you think this is an
answer to your problem.
