There is an assumption that no-back up exists of the data on the hard  
drive?

there are rootkit tools out there. another  solution involves
getting UBCD  or UBCD WIN. these  are feel tools that will take
care of almost anything,  and they are things that everyone should
keep on hand,  updated, at all times.
