[Spridgets] Alternator Conversion

I am planning to put an alternator (60 amp) in my Sprite and plan to 
use the regulator as a terminal block by using Frank C's 
modifications to the regulator box. Frank called for soldering two 
jumper strips to connect the terminals. He specified a 1mm by 6mm 
jumper strap.

Not having anything around like that I'm thinking about using solid 
No. 10 copper wire for the jumper. Is that size sufficient to handle 
the amperage?

What have others used?
