Hi Trevor! Hot down there in Kain-tuck?

After last year's Midget 50th at Elkhart Lake, I managed to melt #4 piston
yet again at the Grattan Vintage Races last August.
Motor went back in about 3 weeks ago and last weekend I ran the Pittsburgh
Vintage GP through Schenley Park. What an AMAZING course. With all of the
curbs, stone walls, ravines, zero run-off, drainage sewers with hay bales
stuffed in them, and Park Dept. road patching, this track took some SERIOUS
study to get into the old noggin. Seems like each outing I was taking 1-2
seconds off of my previous time. Sunday had a great "All-MG" race and the
feature which had a load of Spridgets running. Fastest car was --get
ready-- a Fiat (500) Abarth 1000TC.

Motor didn't melt. The red and white "Works Midget" and I will be at
Waterford Hills this weekend, assisted by the able Rick Fisk. And if THAST
doesn't do me in, then it's Grattan in August for the east coast MG Vintage
Racers Focus Event of 2012. That should be a great place for some fast
Midgets, several B-V8's, and a turn-out of pre-war cars.

So, I still have the Midget. The yellow bugeye Frankensprite was sold to
Virginia 2 years ago and recently sold again, I understand. The '53 MGTD
completed a 1700-mile camping trip through West Virginia a few weeks ago
and ran flawlessly although we got held up for 3 days when the storm
knocked out all power and we couldn't get gasoline. A tree also fell over
our tent and crushed everything while we were trying to put up the top. I
guess the wife brings me good luck.

Good summer, so far!
Cheers,
JohnD

I see many names and I know the status of some of your cars, but let's have
an update.

I'll start:
I have a 1958 Bugeye with a supercharged (Moss) 1275 and datsun 5 speed.
It is driveable, but needs body/paint/interior.
I also have a 1970/2 Midget that has decent body/paint and a 5 speed, but
needs an engine rebuild... I want to do a fuel injected turbo.
I was just given a 1977 Midget. If I can get the title clear, I'll patch
it up and sell it on.

Anyone else like to do a status update?

-Trevor
