Kirk,
A friend/co-worker of mine found instructions online of how to take the
bulb/tube off a new cheap gauge and fix the old gauge.

I can check at work tomorrow and see if he did anything else special...

Subject: [Spridgets] Water Temp Gauge Problem

My original water temp included within the oil pressure gauge stopped
working. For a temporary fix I installed an under dash water temp unit
from the auto parts store.

I was able to make the unit fit my head without damaging the threads . .
and it is reading in accordance with my thermostat when the thermostat
opens up . . if nothing else it might serve as a warning if my temp gets
too high. (The included adapters did not fit of course and the adapters
are typically necessary as they form the seal).

Does anyone have a good reference on who rebuilds gauges and what it might
cost to have this done so that I can go back to the original set up?

I wish there was a way I could buy a new line to the original temp gauge as
I think the problem is with the sender line when I pulled my engine the
last time around. The internal wire on the original unit is ok. . but I
noticed a spot where the surrounding coiled wire was broken . . and I am
not sure if this break would cause the problem.

Any input is certainly appreciated.

Thanks . . .

Kirk
