Wood reacts to load according to the length of time the load is in
place. Building codes have different factors depending on whether the
load is from wind or snow or something that will be there for a long time.

I pulled the engine out of my midget using 2 ceiling joists in my
garage. I've been up there several times and I know I've had all of my
weight on a single joist. I figured the partial engine didn't weigh any
more than I did, and for safety I distributed the load among 2 joists.
If you can distribute your load out among enough joists you can carry a
lot of load and this might make it reasonable to hang just the body tub
for a short period of time.
