[Spridgets] Air filters

My K & N air filters are hitting the Bugeye bonnet so I'm looking for a
alternate style. Most of what will fit are foam and I read that foam isn't
great for the best filtering. With the car only used a few thousand miles per
year is the foam a problem?  Any suggestions, what are listers using?  I'm
running a 1275 with HS2 carbs.

I see some flatter pancake styles but will they restrict flow too much on a
1275?  I have even seen stock 948 filters with the hole opened up for HS2
carbs.
