the simple answer is "yes". the tanus / vada engine was used by saab starting
in 1967. it was also used as a ford stationary compressor motor and some
other industrial aplications in north america. it first came in a 1500cc
design and later was 1700cc's. personally , i've never owned one only two
stroke 3 cylinder saabs as far as saab aplications go.

When I was working in RSA my colleague Tim had a '68(?) Ford Taunus that had a
V4 engine.
Did that engine ever make it to the USA?
Would make an ideal transplant for a spridget.
