BATHURST
Glad to see 'others' watch this event. I sat all day as I do each year.

For the benefit of the Sprite listers and big Healeys, this circuit was
used twicw to run an all Healey race back in 199?
Chris Dimmock was one of the key players in organising this to happen.
Dennis Welch came out with 'Bulldog' his European Under 3 litre
Championship Healey 3000, John Chatham was entered in a locally prepared
3000 and a lot of Australian cars were prepared for an event most people
thought would never happen, at least not at Bathurst. Sprites and big
Healeys mixed it up and the |Sprites were not overshadowed given the 90
metre hill with the elevation change and the very long downhill straight
that suited powerd cars.

I was lucky enough to take part in a LeMans type car (flat out )
demonstration in the ex-works 1967/68 LeMans Sprite which was quite a
buzz. I lapped in very close proximity with a Lenham bodied local car
that is a regular racer in Australian sports car events.

I suggest those interested do a Utube search on ; Bathurst - Lotus Cup -
racing for a brilliant look at out type of cars at this circuit.

And not joking, twice the race has been impacted by the V.8 Supercars
either having a KANGAROO crash through the windscreen to the drivers
surprise and the other time a near miss
