[Spridgets] No LBC - Premium fuel

Try a small amount of regular and see how it runs.

You may find that it runs fine in the winter months on regular
but during the summer you will need to run premium.

I'll bet the engine has a knock sensor and will retard the timing
automatically. If this is the case you can run regular but you get less
performance.

The owner's manual should be clear on this.

Younger Daughter ended up with a time crunch and had to buy a 2003 VW Passat
from a friend because it was available immediately - not the car she would
normally consider. It has a fancy engine and wants premium gas. Will
regular gas do damage if she does not drive the car hard? Should the timing
be adjusted?
