Ryan,

This sounds like you may have worn throttle shafts or the holes where the shafts ride are elongated. That problem allows the random nature of the butterfly's sometimes closing correctly and other times not.

Subject: [Spridgets] Help diagnossing this....

Okay 74 midget, std cam, std distributor, bored .3 over., distributor at 12
o'clock, Idle set (maybe) at 1000B (i like smooth quiet purr at lights)

ran fine before replacing jets last june.B one jet repeatedly gets stuck down
when pulling choke out and I have to stop and push back up once car gets to
temp.B This is not the problem annoying but not the problem.

The problem is that my idle is all over the place (cold or warm).B at one
light its at 900 drops to 500 when I push in the clutch.B at the next light
it may be at 2100 at idle and when I push the clutch in to lower it it drops
to 1500 still way to high.B when I tap the gas peddle to bump the RPM's this
seems to have no affect on resetting the idle and it runs right back to 2100.
I have played with idle adjustmnet screws and it doesn't seem to matter.B I
have checked and oiled all parts of carbs I don't see anything sticking.B

Help I am out of ideas and this is just annoying.B I hate sounding like I am
reving my engine at one light and then almost stalling at the next.B What am
I missing?

Ryan
