[Spridgets] A-series supercharger kits

Hi Andy,

I live in Nuneaton where Jonspeed are based. All the kits seem to be the
same kit using an Eaton blower.

The think to watch with their kit and probably the others is that you'd
need to adapt the kit to an in-line installation rather than transverse. The
second thing is that you need to bear in mind where the steering column is
going to be in relation to the blower and stuff. The biggest issue though
is that the engine will produce such a massive amount of torque you need
something other than a Spridget gearbox.

I'd guess you'll need a serious bonnet bulge which on a LHD car is smack in
 front of your vision.

Probably if you were going to do this you could buy a used turbo conversion
for the A-series and end up spending less money - IF YOU PUT A PROPER
IGNITION RETARD ON IT. It's even been done in the USA with a little bit of
extra work to avoid having any bonnet bulge whatsoever.

Engine stuff - lots of things to think about.

Regards

Greetings,

Has anyone tried one of these on their spridget (or minor or mini) yet?

Same blower as the Moss kit, no bypass though I think.

a number of mini houses are making them, Vmaxscart says he has a kit for
spridgets now.

Though I think my Mk2a Sprite will need a cut to fit the drive pulley on
the
crank. It barely fits a normal 1275 crank damper pulley.
Keen to hear from anyone running an M45 on their spridget.

cheers
Andy
