It's an ancient concept which appeared early in Human history and dissappeared shortly after Credit Cards were invented in 1950 by Frank McNamara and which were "enhanced" in 1980 thanks to Andrew Kahr, CitiBank and South Dakota. 

I still have some samples of "cash" to show to my children <G>
