Driving nails may have helped it.  Once I began having kids the automotive stuff took a back seat. It was sitting around for 20+ years that killed the torque wrench. I am sure my "climate controlled" basement (it does have a dehumidifier helped.

I will make sure I use the new one every so often. Which reminds me, it is time to re-torque the head in the engine for my Bugeye.
