Team Lotus Enterprise has announced the purchase of Caterham Cars, the
little car company formed by Colin Chapman in 1968, whose cars were
"Designed for Racing, Built for Living". Although Lotus Enterprise is a
separate company to Group Lotus, which is owned by Malaysian manufacturer
Proton and produces cars like the Lotus Elise and Evora, it also falls under
the Malaysian umbrella. (Team Lotus Enterprise also operates under a
license from the Malaysian Government.)

So, although the cars will continue to be produced in Catherham, Surrey,
another piece of the crumbling English auto industry leaves the country.
