[Spridgets] Bearings Replacement

Is there not a 1/4-28 machine screw (or two) going through the front plate
into the bearing cap on #1 main?
I'm pretty certain there are two on my 1275.  To get to them one must pull
the timing gear from the front of the crank, not an easy operation with the
engine in the car.
