Ford has been in Brazil for a long time.

In '74 my father was working for Ford and was transferred to
Sao Paulo in order to assist in opening up a car radio plant. We lived
there for 3 years.

There were many multi-national corporations getting a foot hold in Brazil
at that time. Timken, Purina, GM, Ford, Faber. So much so that there was
setup an international English speaking school where all the children of
these multinational corporation workers attended.

I seem to recall that all the GM kids were chauffeured to the school in blue
chevy suburbans. My sister and I would take the bus. Yellow school busses
did not exist in Brazil at that time. The school contracted with a tour bus
company, so our school busses had reclining seats.

Some time after we left (around the late 80s) my father indicated that the
radio plant was entirely run by Brazilians. That included Engineering,
Management etc...
