[Spridgets] Wiring question 1500 Midget

Hey All,

I'm working on a friends 1500 Midget.  I needed to replace the  
starter solenoid and removed the old one.  It has an additional wire  
running to it that the 1275 set-up does not have.  It's an additional  
spade connector on the solenoid that had a wire (white wit light  
green tracer) attached to it.   This wire has 12V when the ignition  
switch is on.

Can anyone tell me what this wire is for?   In the wiring diagram I  
have it's not clear, but according to the diagram, it also runs to  
the coil.   This car originally had electronic ignition but it has  
been converted to points and condenser.

I have replaced the solenoid with a 1275 solenoid and did NOT hook up  
the wire in question.    Everything still works......
