Yes and Yes. captive nut for front screw and screen can be removed leaving 
the pillars attached.

Two phillips head screws attach the pillars to the body on each  side. One
is held by a nut at the door jam, how about the other? Is  that one held by
a captive nut inside the body? Can the screen be removed  leaving the
pillars rails attached?
