[Spridgets] thermostat in the south......

It really doesn't matter what the thermostat opens at. If your cooling 
system will not keep the motor at 180 it sure won't keep it lower, once 
either thermostat opens they have the same size openings and will flow 
all the coolant that can flow. Work on your radiator, a re-core is 
highly recommended - you can get a modern core that works way better put 
in the rad.
