When I got my carbs for the 1098 they were caked in mud and pretty
much frozen into one solid chunk of metal, the junk yard guy said they
will clean up just fine and I could not argue with the price (free).
For the new guys this motor is a junk yard motor going into a older car,
so I had no 1098 parts except what I got from the junk yard.

I tried to rebuild them but things were frozen up pretty solid, I got
some 1275 carbs which I understand are the same carbs just different
jetting and tried mixing-and-matching parts, I may or may not have a
working set of carbs now. I am finally after several years of "life,
deaths and moving" getting back to the car with the goal of finishing by
next summer (driving it by xmas 2010, uh uh sure).

Since my daughter's boyfriend works at Moss he said he could get me
new carbs at employee pricing, its not his car but he does live with us
for the last year so he felt ok getting the carbs, the employee pricing
is very attractive for brand new carbs. However that was many months
ago and he still has not done it, I think he feels uncomfortable doing
it since the employee price is supposed to be for his cars and
family...he lives here rent free...that is family right ?!? a event is
going to happen this weekend (I really want to be gone the entire
weekend while the wife tells him and our daughter) and he won't live
with us after that, I am assuming our daughter will be moving out with
him also. Its safe to assume that wipes out my new carbs too :)

Besides Moss where can I hunt down new 1098 carbs ? At current Moss
prices, I will have to argue with my carbs that should work ok.

    Mike
