       So, I was driving along and I hear the thudadadadadadadadada
       and my Speedo quit working. ...

       Long story short, the barrel and collar pulled free from the
       end. Before I can get it re-crimped on, (suggestions welcome as
       to how to get that done---Someplace that does Hydraulic Hoses?) I
       need to know......

       How far should the Tang sit past the end of the Barrel?

Bill, first of all, when your Speedo quits working, stay in the pool!  I'm 
not familiar with the "thudadadadadadadadada", but I don't wear a Speedo. 
Long story short will be quite evident at that point, too.  Let's hope it 
doesn't get pulled free!

I certainly wouldn't crimp it on, but do as you must.  It is "your" Speedo, 
after all.

So far as how far the tang should fit past the end of the barrel... ask your 
wife!  That is kind of a personal question that we can't really answer for 
you.
