Addendum:  
Check your State Insurance commiccion rules...
In the state of WA, the Insurance company is required to do one of the following
1) Repair your car to it's pre-accident condition. 
or, if totalled
2) Provide you enough money to buy an replacement of the same year, make , model in it's pre-accident condtion (KBB), or
3) Buy you a replacement vehicle (year, make, model) in equivalent pre-accident condition 

They do not inform you of this...
They *will* try to low-ball you!

still try to lowball you, so do your homework and be prepared to
fight.
Adjusters are paid to settle claims for as little as possible.  They
will offer ridiculous low numbers at first.  You have to battle to get
in the realm of reasonable numbers.
