Black was never an official color for the Bugeye despite the fact that
there is the well known illustrated post card promo showing a black Bugeye.

I have it on good word that one black Bugeye was delivered from the factory.

Guess who got it?

Subject: [Spridgets] Healey Colours

A friend owns a 3000 which was painted dark, royal blue wherever he
looked. ALL parties told him there was no such colour available for
Austin Healeys.

When John received his Heritage Certificate it stated; 'delivered in
undercoat to the Donald Healey Motor Co.'

So if you ordered, you paid and you waited, many things were available
even tho they may not have appeared as Showroom listings.

Remember this was not a period of 'just in time manufacturing' or
'computer scheduling'.

John Sprinzel had managed the Donald Healey Moter Co. Speed Equipment
business in London and obviously new the ins and outs of 'how to'.

He later became a Distributor and seller of Austin Healeys. I imagine he
could arrange many things as no doubt others could. For example Ed Bussy
etc. in USA

Remember an Homologation list was the F.I.A recognized list of upgrades
to a standard model that were to be available to any customer over the
counter!!!!!!
