I've known to be very careful with power saws, and I watch closely when using one.  Many years ago I was cutting some wood in my garage with a table saw, again being very careful.  It was a cold night so I was wearing thin gloves.  A few days later I noticed that the fingertip was missing from one of my gloves.  I don't know how or when this happened, but certainly it reinforces the need to be careful around saws.
