Subject: [Spridgets] Welding safety - Brake Cleaner can kill you

This is probably common knowledge for the group, but the dangers of mixing
brake cleaner and welding recently came to my attention. I have used brake
cleaner for nearly everything, even removing oil stains from a shirt on my
way to dinner. Well, late one night after practicing welding all afternoon,
I was watching Gearz on Speed, and heard that the combination can KILL you.
It's called Phosgene gas, and it was used in WWI. A drop of cleaner is
enough to cause permanent damage or death. I have been reading books,
websites, and watching videos, and this was news to me. Read your labels,
be careful.
Safety Fast!
Drew
