[Spridgets] Flying Miata's and Vettes

Just wanted to clarify,
Stock LS2 is 400hp
Stock LS3 is 435hp
Stock LS7 (427 cu in) 505hp.

The supposed 480hp crate motor (bigger cam) they put in one,
only put out 389hp at the wheels. Sounds like not much more than stock.

Still has to be CRAZY fast tho.

Question:

How is it that a 435hp 378 cu in LS3 in a new Vette can get 28mpg hwy,

yet a 300hp 2 liter EVO or 2.5 liter WRX STi can only get 23-25 hwy???
They're small engines, but they can't need boost to maintain hwy speeds, can
they?
Yeah the Vette has big overdrive gears, but with 6 speed boxes in the small
cars,
why don't they use a tall 6th also?

Bugeyeracer finally resto'ed!
