Being beaten about the head and shoulders at anything approaching 145 sounds
flat dangerous, to all occupants of the car. My wife would not do that, now
squeezing very very tightly below the steering wheel, maybe.

  excited one day when I punched my 68 Vette up to 145 MPH... She
  actually screamed louder than the exhaust! She screamed some more when
  I told her that it would go faster still. (Its top end was 160.)
