The VW bugs' rear suspension was identical to the Corvair. I think that
Corvair was just a more local/smaller target. Everybody loved the Bug and

What the heck was Nader's issue with the Corvair anyhow?

The rear independent axles flexed from the inside of the axle, at the
differential, instead of at the wheel?

Same as the older VW Beetle as I recall?  And it never came under fire. . .
