Fuel delivery problems would be more apparent at high speeds than at low
speeds; more consumption.
Carbs circuits have three modes; idle, acceleration and constant speed.

You might check all the tune-up specs; is the gas fairly new?
Maybe start looking at the hot spark coil first. ...bill in oregon

Subject: [Spridgets] alternative fuel pumps

I've been having occasional stumbling from my 73 Midget lately and
today it doesn't want to idle good either - having to baby it and
feather the throttle to keep it from dieing @ stop lights sure takes
the fun out of driving! Just got back to the garage and see there's
very little fuel in the cup of the fuel filter (usually sits about 1/3
full) so I'm guessing my old fuel pump is starting to give up.

I seem to remember discussion on here about alternative fuel pumps but
ain't having much luck searching the archives.

What's a decent quality pump that I might find today at my FLAPS?

Also noticed my coil seemed quite hot after a 15 minute drive so
possibly I need to replace it too. Any thoughts on that too??
