[Spridgets] 1275 head & valves

It turns out that my 12g1316 head has 1.3" inlet valves, which is bigger than I thought.  Is moving to 1.4" intake valves worth the expense for a street car?  There is very little space for them.  How about 1.4" Rimflo valves ($$$!)?

The air injection ports are blocked, but each has a fair-sized nipple or something extending well into the exhaust port in the worst possible place.  Is this normal, or has something been shoved in there by the plug?
