And, thus, Harbor Freight was able to maintain their pristine reputation.

Great move, Brad. By the way, did they send the same crap or new and
improved crap?

I gotta say, forums are the best thing EVER!!
I know Frank loves to trash on Harbor Freight over their cheap ass
products. But Frank, there IS an answer...
I purchased a Harbor Freight receiver hitch bike rack from those
buggers early last year. My wife and I were taking our road bikes to
other places to ride fairly often. I made the mistake of leaving it
mounted on the Pathfinder, and as Frank knows, the rubber mounting
bits on the rack started rotting, and the velcro straps on it started
to crack the rubber and break it.
I emailed Harbor Freight, and received their patent reply of "we only
offer a 90 day warranty on this item".
I reply with "you offer lifetime warranty on hand tools, yet an item
that takes virtually NO stress gets 90 days?"
HF: We hope you understand that we can only follow our company policies
Me: I do understand, and I hope you will understand that I will be
recounting this experience on the bike forums to which I am a member.
No sense any members paying $40 for a rack that will rot away in about
100 days"

needless to say, my new parts arrived today.....
