[Spridgets] Nice 59 on ebay, question on filter

I beg to differ. I have owned my 1960 Bugeye since 1964. When I bought it,
it was stock with a mechanical fuel as I described. I have upgraded to a
1275, but I still use a mechanical fuel pump. If you had a mechanical fuel
pump mounted in front of the boot, how would it be driven?

Herb,
The Bugeye and the MKII came with mechanical pumps in front of the boot
(trunk area) on the chassis. That's what my 62 had and I now have an
electrical pump which I located in the engine area. It is also listed that
way in both the Leyland & the Haynes Sprite Manuals.
The Spitfire engine had mechanical pumps attached to the engine like my 68
Spitfire had. I believe the Sprite had used Spitfire engines in later models
perhaps you're confusing it with them.

I know this may be a dumb question, but I've never owned a Bugeye.
Where is the fuel pump located?
Both my square body cars have the fuel pump under the wheel arch with the
filter in the engine bay..
