For the break-in period on the MINI, I vary the rpm and don't exceed 4,500 rpm. You can vary the rpm without varying your speed.

 Ok, as long as we have gone way off topic to MINI's, this mileage on
new toys post brings up a question. What is the list wisdom on breaking
in new motors ?
